We haven't been able to attend in awhile due to children's bedtimes, so I feel as though I were a part. After reading your post, this quote below from Thomas Merton struck me: “So instead of loving what you think is peace, love other men and love God above all. And instead of hating the people you think are warmakers, hate the appetites and the disorder in your own soul, which are the causes of war. If you love peace, then hate injustice, hate tyranny, hate greed—but hate these things in yourself, not in another.” I agree that it is so easy for us to blame others than to take responsibility for our own actions. It's a reminder I need daily. You might be interested in a post by Andrew Krinks (an OCer) about this Merton quote.
